What to wear and bring to practice: clothes that can get wet and dry quickly (remember, cotton does not dry quickly); either shorts or long pants are okay. Footwear water shoes, flip-flops, tennies (your feet will get wet!). Sunglasses—with a keeper so they don’t fall off. Hat with brim, preferably that can tie under your neck. No rings (they can fall off). Gloves (bicycle, garden, paddling) to protect your hands. (Many people paddle without
gloves, so don’t worry if you don’t have any.) Sunscreen, sunscreen, sunscreen. One of those garden kneeling pads to sit on (the wood benches make for a sore bottom!). A
towel. Water bottle.
Life vests (also known as Personal Flotation Devices, or PFD’s) and paddles are provided at the practice site.
